Who We Are

Throughout 1997, a series of meetings were held between hospital, physician, and health care leaders in the state of West Virginia to discuss the recently released Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care in the U.S. These participants expressed an interest in building a sustainable collaborative effort between the hospital and physician communities to look at clinical variations, and to identify and address opportunities to improve care.
